Unemployment Rate in America

According to the US Department of Labor, the unemployment rate is the lowest it has been in 50 years, 3.6%.  The economy has added 263,000 jobs in April with no signs of job growth stalling.  The largest gains in jobs were in the business services, construction and health care.  One job sector that showed disappointment and shows signs of it stalling was the manufacturing sector.   We now have more job available than unemployed people or full employment.

The low umeployment rate is forcing American employers to raise pay to attract possible employees.  The average hourly earnings rose 3.2% in the last year with the lowest wage earners getting the largest increases in wages.  This is good news for people who are looking for work or to change jobs.
